Verses AI: From Top Pick to Top Performer in the AI Investment Wave
- Verses has announced the closing of a CAD$20 million prospectus offering that was institutionally led at CAD$1.57 per unit.
- Its Genius™ platform has successfully outperformed an OpenAI model in a code-breaking challenge — a major milestone in the world of artificial intelligence.
- Verses is set to dominate the race toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) — widely regarded as the 'holy grail' of AI.
One of the Top Picks at CEM's Muskoka event last September was VERSES AI, a cognitive computing company developing next-generation intelligent software systems modeled on biological intelligence that can learn and adapt more like humans.
Exchange attendees in Muskoka , seeing the potential for Verses’ growth, made the selection when the company’s shares were trading at CAD $0.70. Last week, the share price more than tripled to a high of CAD $ 2.37 and closed yesterday at CAD $1.76.
This week brought more good news for Verses as it announced the closing of a CAD$20 million prospectus offering that was institutionally led at CAD$1.57 per unit.
The financing involves the sale of 12.7 million units. Each unit includes one subordinate voting share and half a share purchase warrant, exercisable at CAD $1.96 per share for three years.
The funds will provide liquidity for ongoing operations, with a strong emphasis on research and development, working capital, and general corporate purposes, the company said.
"The stock is now trading well above issue and the company is well-funded going forward," said a company spokesman.

Verses AI is revolutionizing software development by creating advanced tools inspired by the workings of nature. At the core of its innovation is Genius™, a developer toolkit that enables the creation of intelligent software capable of reasoning, planning, and learning like the human brain.
Rooted in principles from science and biology, Genius™ is designed to make software smarter, more adaptive, and better equipped to enhance collaboration between people and machines, fostering a more connected and efficient world.
With this groundbreaking approach, VERSES is charting the path toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)—a level of AI that surpasses the narrow capabilities of current models developed by OpenAI, Google, Meta, Anthropic, and others. By focusing on systems that can perform a wide range of tasks and learn from experience, VERSES aims to create truly general-purpose intelligent systems, advancing AI closer to human-like adaptability and understanding.
“What sets us apart is our pursuit of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Unlike narrow AI, AGI can generalize across multiple tasks, learn from experience, and interact with the world in ways that are closer to human reasoning. Investors see this as the future of AI.”
- Gabriel René, Founder & CEO, VERSES
Why Is This Happening?
Verses has achieved a groundbreaking milestone in artificial intelligence, showcasing the unmatched performance of its Genius™ platform in a head-to-head comparison with OpenAI’s industry-leading o1 Preview model. The platform excelled in the Mastermind challenge, a complex reasoning task requiring models to decode a hidden code using logical guesses informed by feedback hints.
In a rigorous comparison involving 100 rounds of Mastermind, Genius™ outperformed OpenAI’s model across key metrics: it was 140 times faster and 5,000 times more cost-efficient, highlighting its revolutionary efficiency and scalability.
The performance of Genius™ underscores its ability to deliver cutting-edge reasoning, reliability, and cost efficiency, positioning it as a game-changer for industries demanding smarter, faster, and more scalable solutions.
The growing interest from AI-focused institutions also follows the release of promising preliminary results from the company’s Atari 10K Challenge. This ambitious initiative seeks to enable AI platforms to achieve or surpass human-level performance across multiple Atari games.
According to early findings, Verses AI’s Genius™ platform has demonstrated that its Active Inference-based Bayesian models can deliver performance that is comparable or superior to industry-leading solutions like Google DeepMind’s Bigger, Better, Faster (BBF) model and transformer-based architectures used by Anthropic and OpenAI.
The company plans to show additional reasoning capabilities of the Genius™ platform in its upcoming Atari 10K benchmark results.
